Guides:
Lindsey Barr
Lindsey grew up in central North Carolina, where she developed a love for science and the outdoors. She was introduced to camping and hiking at a young age through Girl Scouts, and went on to earn a Girl Scout Gold Award. In 2012, Lindsey left her aerospace engineering career behind to follow her dream of helping to introduce others to the outdoors in a welcoming and empowering way. When she isn't at work, you can find them exploring area trails and waterways, enjoying Asheville's live music scene, or in their art studio. In addition to hiking and backpacking, she enjoys paddling, rock climbing, fly fishing, knitting, and stained glass.
Jenna "Mittens" Carroll
Originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Jenna discovered a love for the mountains when she spent six months hiking the 2,193-mile Appalachian Trail in 2021. More than a break from a high-stress corporate career, the trail transformed her sense of self and gave her a place to call home. She has since backpacked several shorter trails and enjoys completing local endurance hiking challenges. When she's not in the woods, you can find her near a basketball court, reading poetry, or playing with her goldendoodle Blueberry.
