Due to the recent increase in COVID cases in our community, we've decided to implement a new set of COVID safety policies. We hope that these new procedures keep all of our guests and guides healthy this fall!
If you have a known exposure to COVID, a positive COVID test, or experiences COVID-like symptoms in the 10 days leading up to your trip, please don't come! We'll work with you to reschedule, credit, or refund your trip.
Shop and Shuttles
Effective immediately, customers in our downtown Asheville shop will be required to wear masks while inside our store. Additionally, masks will be required for all hikers while inside our shuttle vehicle.
Day Hikes
We will not be offering Group Half Day Hiking Tours for the remainder of the 2021 season. If you've already booked a Group Half Day Hiking Tour, our Admin team will reach out with options regarding your reservation.
Because our Private Day Hikes take place outside, we're not implementing any additional vaccination or COVID testing requirements for Day Hike guests. Guests can request a fully vaccinated guide, an outdoor meetup location, and/or electronic waivers if they prefer to take a more cautious approach to COVID safety. If your Day Hike includes transportation, all guests will be asked to wear a mask while inside our shuttle vehicle.
Group Backpacking Trips
All guests on our Group Backpacking Trips will be expected to show proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID -OR- a 7-day health log and a negative COVID test within the 72 hours before you arrive for your trip. All guests will also be asked to wear a face covering during the pack shakedown and in our shuttle vehicle. The same policies apply to our guides, caretaker, and shuttle drivers.
Private Backpacking Trips
Vaccine and testing requirements do not apply to our Private Backpacking Trips.
Guests may requst a fully vaccinated guide and/or may request that their guide receive a negative COVID test within the 72 hours before their trip starts.
Bunkhouse
We're planning to reopen our bunkhouse on August 23, 2021. When we reopen, all bunkhouse guests will be asked to either show proof of vaccination -OR- a 7-day health log and a negative COVID test within the 72 hours before you arrive for your stay. Private room bookings will be available for guests who do not wish to share sleeping space with others.
If a guest books the whole bunkhouse for a private group, the vaccination and testing requirements may be waived.
